Uganda Tourism Roadshow Türkiye 2026 Successfully Connected Ugandan Tourism Stakeholders with 218 Turkish Travel Professionals

The Uganda Tourism Roadshow Türkiye 2026 was successfully organized through the collaboration of the Embassy of the Republic of Uganda in Ankara, Uganda Tourism Board and GlobeMeets, with the objective of promoting Uganda’s tourism potential to the Turkish travel trade.

The first event took place on 16 June 2026 at Teymur Continental Hotel & Convention Center in Gaziantep, followed by the main event on 19 June 2026 at Radisson Collection Hotel Vadistanbul in Istanbul. Throughout the roadshow, Ugandan tourism professionals, destination management companies, safari operators and government representatives met with leading Turkish travel agencies, tour operators, media representatives and content creators.

The primary objective was to increase Uganda’s visibility within the Turkish market, establish new business partnerships and strengthen tourism relations between the two countries.

The following organizations represented Uganda during the B2B networking sessions:

The meetings enabled direct engagement between Ugandan suppliers and Turkish travel

professionals, creating opportunities for new tourism products, safari programs, incentive travel, group travel business and strategic partnerships.

INSTITUTIONAL VISITS AND STRATEGIC MEETINGS

As part of the Gaziantep program, the Ugandan delegation conducted a series of institutional visits on 16 June 2026 prior to the roadshow event.

The first stop was the TÜRSAB GAP Regional Representative Board, where the delegation met with Mr. Halil İbrahim Kılınç, Chairman of the TÜRSAB GAP Regional Representative Board, together with members of the Board of Directors. Discussions focused on strengthening tourism relations between Uganda and Türkiye, enhancing destination promotion activities, and exploring future opportunities for cooperation between the two countries.

Following the meeting, the Ugandan delegation and TÜRSAB representatives were hosted for lunch by GlobeMeets. The luncheon provided an informal networking opportunity, allowing participants to further strengthen relationships and exchange ideas in a collaborative setting.

In the afternoon, the delegation visited the Gaziantep Chamber of Commerce (GTO), where a meeting was held under the leadership of H.E. Nusura Tiperu, Ambassador of the Republic of Uganda to Türkiye, with Mr. Taner Özdurak, Vice Chairman of the Board of Directors of the Gaziantep Chamber of Commerce.

Discussions focused on potential cooperation in trade, investment and tourism, as well as opportunities to further strengthen bilateral relations. Following the meeting, Mr. Nelson Kasigaire delivered a special investment presentation for GTO members, highlighting Uganda’s investment landscape, priority sectors, incentive schemes and business opportunities available to Turkish investors.

The program concluded with a networking session, providing participants with the opportunity to establish new professional connections and explore potential partnerships.

These visits demonstrated that the Uganda Tourism Roadshow Türkiye 2026 served not only as a tourism promotion initiative but also as an effective platform for strengthening institutional relations, encouraging investment and fostering long-term economic cooperation between Uganda and Türkiye.

MEDIA & PUBLIC RELATIONS

The roadshow received extensive coverage from leading Turkish tourism media outlets, industry publications and digital platforms.

In addition, several media interviews were conducted with H.E. Ambassador Nusura Tiperu, Ambassador of the Republic of Uganda to Türkiye. The interviews focused on Uganda’s tourism  offerings, market priorities, sustainability initiatives and opportunities to further strengthen tourism cooperation between Uganda and Türkiye. The media outreach activities were designed to increase destination awareness, strengthen Uganda’s brand visibility within the Turkish travel trade and support future promotional activities in the market.
